Welcome to
england's finest!, my website dedicated to the incredible PWEI.
Site Update (01-07-06): Added the two animated covers from the old Flash version of this site to the artwrok section. Also, you may have noticed there's a new feature letting you select different styles for the site. Just added a Box Frenzy 'skin'.
News (24-06-06): As you've probably have heard already by now, the Poppies won't be returning after all, due to Clint and Richard being unable to devote enough time to the Poppies due to other commmitments. However instead of an ending it's more of a new beginning as Graham, Adam and Fuzz have created a new band called
Vileevils. The majority of the material featured in the Sonic Noise Byte will reappear under the Vileevils name, so chances are the stuff you liked in the noise byte will see light of day. To keep up to date, check out the
official Vileevils Myspace page and also at
PWEInation.org.
For five nights in January 2005,
POP WILL EAT ITSELF were back! It may have been almost ten years since the last Poppies gig (as you could probably guess from the receding hairlines and expanding waistlines in the crowd) but the guys showed they can still cut it on stage, playing a set featuring the likes of Preaching To The Perverted, Dance Of The Mad Bastards, Can U Dig It?, Karmadrome and even Beaver Patrol. Also included as an encore were some 'new' tracks, which were early tracks such as There's A Psychopath In My Soup and Oh Grebo I Think I Love You, with the band reverting to the original line up with Graham back on drums ('New boy' Fuzz getting a well earned break!).
The gigs were all recorded live and released on CD straight after the shows, as well as a DVD of the Sunday gig at Brum being released the following day, which apparently made history as the fastest release of a live performance on DVD. The CDs and DVD are all available to buy online at
getLIVE.
